Menorca is the spectacular, yet much more crowded island of Majorca’s counterpart. It is a smaller, more tranquil island, with a population of around 90,000 inhabitants, and is perfect for a family holiday, combining trips to paradisiacal coves and beaches with interesting cultural visits. Built by the British between 1710 and 1726, this was one of the most important buildings during the battle between Spain, Great Britain and France for the possession of Menorca, with a goal to obtaining the Mediterranean domain.
